The Halqa Shäabi performs a traditional style on Moroccan music called “Tqitikat“. The group of three to four musicians plays almost every day at Jemaa El Fna. The singer is accompanied musically by a banjo, a tambourine and metal castanets. One of their most famous songs is “Quelle est jolie“ (How beautiful she is). The song discribes different types of women in various cities of Morocco. Because ob their wit and subtle lyrics the group Shäabi gained a wide audience over the years.
